Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about visiting the Eiffel Tower

How much do Eiffel Tower tickets cost?
Adult prices (2024/2025): Stairs to 2nd floor 11.80, Elevator to 2nd floor 18.80, Elevator to Summit 29.40, Stairs + Elevator to Summit 22.40. Children (4-11) and youth (12-24) receive reduced rates. Children under 4 enter free.
Which floor is best to visit?
Each floor offers a different experience. The 1st floor (57m) has a glass floor, exhibitions, and Madame Brasserie restaurant. The 2nd floor (115m) offers the best panoramic views and houses Le Jules Verne restaurant. The Summit (276m) has Gustave Eiffel's restored office and a champagne bar. For the full experience, visit all three levels.
Should I take the stairs or the elevator?
The stairs (674 steps to the 2nd floor) offer a unique perspective of the iron lattice structure and are cheaper. The elevator is faster and easier, ideal for those with mobility concerns. You can also combine: stairs to the 2nd floor and elevator to the Summit. Note that the stairs only go up to the 2nd floor; the Summit is only accessible by elevator.
How long does a visit take?
Plan for 1.5 to 2 hours for a complete visit including all three floors. If you take the stairs, add about 30 minutes. Queues can add 1-2 hours without skip-the-line tickets, especially in summer.
Should I book tickets in advance?
Absolutely. The Eiffel Tower is the most visited paid monument in the world with over 7 million visitors per year. Tickets frequently sell out, especially for Summit access. Book at least 2-3 weeks ahead during peak season (June to September) and holidays.
